About The Film

How The Story Started

From War in Sudan
To Genocide in Gaza

This film was born from my fear for my family’s survival. I never imagined I’d create something like this. I once dreamed of writing scripts, plays, and articles about mental health and art, especially poetry. Yet, here I am, crafting this story amidst war.

I survived six weeks under bombardment in Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, before fleeing with my family. Now, trapped in Gaza, I’ve had to confront my social anxiety and return to social media—a space I’d abandoned. Interacting with people, virtually and in person, is draining, but I rebuilt myself from scratch—posting poems and advocating for my people.

I’m proud of my art, though I wish it hadn’t been forged in such darkness. My dream is to write about love, adventure, and science fiction. Until then, I’ll keep using my voice to fight for Sudan, Palestine, and all marginalized communities. It’s freedom for all, and I will never stop fighting for it.

No one is free until we are all free.

What People Are Saying About The Film

Here is a small collection of kind words people have to say about my work.

Ahmed’s film is an extremely important humanising force, showing the numbed-down masses outside of Gaza that the people there are just like everyone else. As the zionist occupation has spent decades dehumanising and silencing Palestinian voices, watching this film is resistance in itself.

We’ve seen this unravel for the last two years and you showing your strength through this struggle in such a touching yet heartbreaking way gives me some semblance of hope. It is a reality that most of us will never be able to imagine. Knowing you can still find yourself smiling through it all is a sign of unwavering love for your family. Thank you for sharing your story. Thoughts and prayers.
