Support Ahmed Sarsour’s film about Gaza

An unforgettable film. And the poet Gaza needs.

A Palestinian poet, displaced from Sudan’s war to Gaza, escapes one nightmare only to face another. With a shaky phone camera and trembling voice, he uses poetry to save his family—and reclaim their humanity.

This fundraising campaign seeks to raise critical funds needed to develop this project into the professional vision Ahmed has an aspiring filmmaker and resilient artist. This will include film production and advertisement costs as well as future applications for film festivals and distribution. Additional funds raised from this campaign will be distributed in the form of honorariums, for up to 30 people, who are featured in the film. This will help give them some support to rebuild their lives beyond genocide. Here’s the breakdown:

Post production (editing, sound design, VFx, audio, color correction, etc): 68,000$= 95,000 CAD

Marketing and distribution, festivals submissions: 30,000$= 42,000 CAD

Sub characters (friends, relatives): 40,000$= 56,000 CAD

Transfer fees: 3,000$= 7, 000 CAD
